Kayla couldn't see anymore. The blush had officially blocked her vision. She felt someone pulling her up from the shallows. Why? What was it... ah, air. That was it.

Kayla had tried to speak but found herself unable to. She felt her head starting to spin and started to feel like she was leaving her body. Good heavens, what was happening?

Noss broke the kiss, which though highly enjoyable for her, was far less existential than it was for Kayla. She wrapped her arms around Kayla and just held her in the shallows of the water as the waves washed over them.

She couldn't help but laugh and look back at Kayla.
"Can you honestly say you're surprised? Look at my family."
She took on a more serious, but caring, smile.
"Not only does the Takasei family lack certain social inhibitions, but of all the girls in my life, you're the most normal. The most beautiful. The most understanding."
She laughed a bit again.
"The only one ot not compare me to my mom like I'm meant to be Linnis 2.0."

Kayla felt herself coming together. "Noss, don't take this the wrong way, but I need time to have this sink in, ok?" She looked up at her, blushing greatly.

She expected as much. Ric had never seemed very approving of Noss in general, unless it gave him an opportunity to pick a fight with someone. And the Lantash family, while supporting of lesbians, seemed to have a "Rei is enough" mentality.

Noss gave her a slightly sad smile.
"You're an arrow, I'm a circle. I think your train of thought itsn't exactly going to lead somewhere I'll like anyway."
She slipped out from under Kayla and smiled.
"I knew that for years. It's not too upsetting, really."
