Ishmael is honestly a bit of a loner, not because he dosen't like company but because he dosen't know how to make it and he's wary of making the wrong sort of friends. His history makes him by nature a catious person wary not only of people but also of change and us thus he has kept to himself for most of his life.

If a person offers him friendship it is usually his awkward nature that scares them off rather than his words. He is kind at heart but his inability to express that part of himself to others is his downfall and had led to his social isolation.

Ishmael is used to this though and to say he copes well would be an understatement, infact, he thrives under the conditions in which he has been raised, especially as a duelist. Of the few things he takes pride in dueling is one of them and losing is something he rarely ever considers, let alone does.

History:

Ishmael cannot remember his real name. He was adopted at birth by a wealthy couple and his adoptive father Jacob Ruminaki made it clear that his seeking of such information would be heavily punished. His adoptive father chaired the Australian Dueling Association or ADA and as such Ishmael was raised to duel and duel alone, he was expensively homeschooled and as such his level of intellect, although high, is myopic and adds to his inability to adapt to situations beyond his control.

He entered tournaments at the age of eight, besting those five years older than himself before ompeting on an adult level at the age of thirteen. His entire life revolved around dueling and as such Ishmael genuinely lacked the childhood experiences valued by so many others his own age.

In winning the junior Australian National competition at the age of 15 Ishmael was invited by ADA in a proposal strongly put forth by his father, to atten the San Melina Duel academy as the Twelve Apostles Duel Academy exchange student. Easger to please his father he accepted the position without hesitation. Oblivious to the fact that once you are outside the protection of you're family and up against some of the world's dueling elite, life gets a hell of a lot harder.
