January 14 - Industrial Illusions launches the game of Duel Monsters, based off the discoveries of Sugoroku Mutou and Arthur Hopkins in Egypt. Pegasus J. Crawford developed an interest in the legends in 1990 after the death of his lover Cydnia.
1994
February 12 - Kaiba Corporation develops the first holographic dueling arena.
1995
May - Industrial Illusions develops the Egyptian God Cards.
1997
July 1 - Industrial Illusions hosts Duelist Kingdom, the first official international tournament in the game Duel Monsters.
July 15 - Yugi Mutou is crowned the first "King of Games". He has retained this title to this very day and has gone down in the annals of history as one of the most successful duelists in history, mainly through blind luck and a touch of skill.
July 30 - Pegasus retires from his position at Industrial Illusions, however still retains his stock in the company.
1998
January 14 - Kaiba Corp introduces the first virtual RPG for Duel Monsters, dubbed 'Duel Monsters: Virtual World'. The game involves the player being within the game itself and interacting with several players in different holopods.
May 18 - Kaiba Corp brings the first Duel Disc officially to the market. The first Duel Disc was a disc model used by Seto Kaiba during the Duelist Kingdom tournament.
October - Kaiba Corp hosts the first Battle City tournament, a device to show off the new Duel Disc model.
1999
January 27 - Paradius commences a hostile takeover of Industrial Illusions.
February 1 - Paradius commences a hostile takeover of the Kaiba Corporation.
April 2 - The Pyramid of Light incident occurs in Domino City. Many archaeologists are killed in Egypt.
November 13 - The Seal of Orichalcos incident occurs all around the world, centered in San Fransisco, California. A large serpentine being called the Leviathan appears over the city. The world starts to learn from this day of the secret world behind Duel Monsters.
December 1 - Kaiba Corp and Industrial Illusions are released from Paradius to Seto Kaiba and Maximillion Pegasus, whom came out of retirement.
December 15 - As a response to the latest turn of events, an underground organization known as SID is formed to protect the people from otherworldly threats.
2000
March - Construction is completed on Kaibaland, and the KC Grand Prix is hosted for its celebration.
April 1 - D-ENT, or Dueling Enterprises rises from obscurity to become the top dueling techology producer in North America. Rivalry is common between Kaiba Corporation and D-ENT.
August 28 - The Millennium Items are sealed away forever... assuming no one releases them again.
2002
May - VECTOR, a sub-company underneath Industrial Illusions is sold to the highest bidder and made its own independent company. VECTOR soon becomes the head honcho of all tournament and education within the dueling world, with a sub-business in card design and distribution.

September 1 - Duel Academy is opened by the Kaiba Corporation in Domino, Japan. At the same date, San Melina Academy is released by VECTOR in San Melina, California.
