It wasn't uncommon for Kyoko to just hang around somewhere just for the sake of hanging out, and this was one of those cases. She came here though because people were here, unlike in the forest where she would go to be alone or with one or two people. She liked being with people so she wouldn't be alone; she didn't like being alone most of the time.
There were anonymous faces here, but she also wanted to see a familiar face. She heard the talk about the new bombing of Industrial Illusions, and it worried her; wasn't that where the Divine Seal was supposed to be?
There were other worries she had too; one was the second bombing this year, also linked to Industrial Illusions since it owned both buildings.

Max was ... to say the least, frustrated, he been away for 2 days, both of which he hadn't slept, and if he had it hadn't been well, his sister had ended up in hospital, and although her condition was now stable, it preyed on the back of his mind, he had a niggling injury in his right leg hat no amount of Paracetamol could get rid of and now he had a headache.
Rubbing at his temples, he was greeted with a nice, fresh breeze, a deep breath of clean air cleared his thoughts slightly.
Suddenly, there was a familiar feeling, not foreboding but ... something else, an instinct, so deeply ingrained he could only just ignore the feeling ... something familiar ... worry.
Then it was gone, like dust in the breeze, straightening himself slightly, he ran a paling hand shakingly through his white hair, which almost seemed to disappear, before crossing the foyer.
Things around him seemed to rush past him, first faster ... then slower, then, like a tape-player that had been repaired, it began to play itself normally.
He shakingly grabbed for a small container of pills that he kept in his blazer pocket, Benzodiazepines, anti-depressants, perscribed obviously, formerly a weeks worth, now just a couple of days left, or as his Psychology Textbook had once described them:
"A short-term, but efficient reducer of stress or stress related problems, mainly emotion-focused ... does nothing to actively solve the stress or stress-related problem"
He unscrewed the lid and gently tipped out 2 pills, he gave a sigh as he palmed and swallowed the pair of small, white pills, 12-hour relief, then he would spend the next 2-weeks getting himself off them ... what a brilliant waste of time, he gave a shudder, vile tasting things, but for the moment ... necessary.
Then he recognised someone, someone he hadn't seen in a while, His hands stopped shaking and perhaps a tinge more of pink came into those paled limbs.
"Hi Kyoko!" he said wearily, although perhaps with a tinge of brightness, this wasn't there first meeting, now into their fourth, most of the previous ones had ended with him getting rather badly beaten, although he didn't really mind that much, it was still a little chip in his pride.

Kyoko looked at the friend that approached her and put on a smile for him. "Hey," she greeted. "Feeling alright?" she asked him, seeing his appearance, that could have been better. "Wanna sit down?" she asked, scooting down on the bench she was sitting at to give him some room to sit down.
It was good to see a familiar face like his after all that has gone on and is going on still. She didn't know who to turn to, but someone had come to give her the answer.

Max gave a small smile, "Thanks" he said gratefully, taking the space that she had cleared for him.
"So how have you been since I last saw you?" Max queried, casting about for a topic of conversation, whilst just enjoying the company of a friend.

"Some good things have happened. Though some not so good things too. You know, the normal stuff," she answered, leaning back and sighing. She turned her eyes to him and asked, "what about you? Anything happen for you?" she asked politely.

"Oh ... you know ... stuff, most of it bad" he paused for a second, trying to gather his emotions, he swallowed , before continuing, gently massaging his temples with his index and middle finger of his left hand and the right on his knee, "My sister ended up in hospital, Tonsillitis at first, nothing too serious, happens to everyone at some point ... then it got worse and spread into her neck, rather rare you see, doesn't happen very often, so in the end they operated, she's O.K now, but at the time"
He paused again, blinking heavily, taking in a couple of deep breaths before continuing "I'm one of those overprotective brothers, I've always looked out for her ... it just makes you feel so ... so ... " he paused again, before leaning back suddenly, unleashing a sigh as he did, running his hands through his white hair before starting again.
"Apologies I shouldn't be dragging you into my personal life, sorry!" he apologised, looking away, slightly embarrassed, he wasn't used to being so open, he preferred to keep his school and home lives separate, completely.

Kyoko smiled at him in an understanding way, although the smile was also a bit sad. "Don't worry about it," she told him, leaning forward and placing her hands on her knees so she could see his face better. "I understand that you need to get it off your chest somehow," she assured him in her friendly manner.
She was glad he trusted her enough to tell her this, choosing to think that he did choose to tell her instead of thinking it just slipped from his lips.

"Thanks" Max said, returning the smile, then he gave another sigh, blinking back the verges of a tear, "I don't think I've ever been so ... emotional before" he mused to Kyoko, blinking again

She could tell he was trying not to cry in front of her and the others here by how he was blinking; she did the same thing whenever she tried to fight back tears. "Well you shouldn't bottle them up any longer. That just makes it much harder when they want to come out."

Max's hands were trembling again, he could feel the hot walls of tears behind his eyes burning like a fire, he blinked. And it was that one fatal blink that caused the entire cascade to break free, as tears flowed down his cheeks as he wept like a small child, a release.

Kyoko could feel part of his pain and put a hand on his shoulder, deciding against saying anything. She knew that he had problems and needed to release them, and she would be there to help as his friend.

Max griped the hand on his shoulder, not too hard, but hard enough to provide a small link. it was the contact that mattered, like an anchor to the ship. The other hand attempted to wipe away the chilling, burning tears away with a small rugged kerchief stowed in his sleeve. there were almost no words that could describe what he was feeling now, or the emotions that now racked his body like electricity and flowed through every pour and cell like a fountain. He gave a small sob, similar to a cat, before releasing the warm hand on his shoulder to finish wiping away the last vestiges of tears from the corners of his face.
Sniffling slightly, as if he hadn't cried in a long time, Max felt much much ... better. As if the weight of the world had been lifted from his shoulders, giving him ... something, although at the moment, he wasn't sure what at the moment. He didn't speak, there were no words to come, nothing.
