Marylin had lead Cerise to the Caverns as they prepared for the adventure. Marylin hadn't had the chance to scout out the Caverns nor had there ever been a map of them. This was just like entering a tomb for the first time. Who knows what they would find down here.
As she turned she looked at Cerise and smiled. She had given Cerise, her hat as they came here. However, as she waited for Cerise to come up she heard a familiar Meow. It was then she saw her cat Mashiro scampering up to them.
"Oh hey there...did you know that I was going to explore these caves? Oh Cerise...let me introduce you...this is my cat Mashiro."

"Mashiro, it's a pleasure." Cerise had had a cat back in Chicagoland. Black, slender, and ironically gay. Perhaps, if Justin hadn't sold it, she'd get it over the summer.

Mashiro leapt from Marylin's arms and nyaoed a greeting to Cerise before starting to walk around her. She seemed curious about Marylin's new companion and hiffed around Cerise. Once she had gone around about two times, Mashiro looked up at Cerise and lifted her paws like she wanted to be picked up.
"Well, it seems that Mashiro likes you, Cerise." said Marylin as she smiled.

"Seems so!" Cerise smiled and leaned over to pick up the tubby cat. She held it for a moment before letting the girl climb on her in any way she pleased so they might continue. "Nice kitty you got there, Marylin."

Mashiro purred as she nuzzled Cerise and then climbed into Cerise's Shoulder.
"Alright, Cerise..." said Marylin as she reached into her coat and then pulled out two powerful flash lights.
It would help them see into the less lit areas of the Caverns. She handed one to Cerise with a smile.
"Hang on to this light, as long as we have these we should be able to see anything coming. So, Cerise...ready?" asked Marylin with a smile as she took a few steps into the cave and turned to Cerise.

She flicked on the powerful light and grinned. It wasn't large, but it was powered by LEDs, so it pierced the dark effectively. "Ready as I'll ever be. Let's go, Mary!"

Marylin grinned and lead Cerise into the cave. She had the rope around her left shoulder and in her backpack there was various items that would help them explore the caves. She didn't know what to expect, but to be honest that was always half the fun of adventuring new places. Mary had flicked on her light and the LED was working like a charm. As she looked around the cave the stone and ground crunched and shifted with their foot steps. The air was moving well through these caves it seemed. As they walked further in the would start to come to a decline in the path.
Marylin stopped and turned looking at Cerise.
"Well it seems we've come to our first possible hazard." said Marilin as she got her rope off of her shoulder.

"A slope?" Cerise asked obliviously, before shining her flashlight downward to illuminate whatever it was Marylin might have been talking about.

"Yeah...look at the stone...it's smooth with very few crevices we can step down on. It looks like it's not that far down but we better use the rope just in case we slip, you can never be to careful or the slide down may end up really hurting us at the bottom. It will be easier climbing back up as well with the rope." said Marylin as she moved her flashlight around the area around them.
It was then Mashiro slid down from Cerise's shoulder and looked around then pitter pattered up to a sturdy stalagmite that they could use to secure the rope too.
"Cerise...do you know how to do a knot with rope?" asked Marylin curiously.

"A couple, but not the climber's knots." She admitted, rubbing the back of her head with her free hand as if it was something everyone knew but her.

"Well, let me teach you how to do this one. If you go exploring on your own someday I wouldn't want you unprepared. Though coming to save a pretty girl like you would be fun." said Marylin with a smile and a light giggle as she motioned for Cerise to pay attention.
She did one of the more basic and sturdy climber knot. This would secure the rope snugly and allow them to go down safely. Her mom, Anna, had taught her how to do this...and she thanked him for it every time.
