Long, hard days and nights of no sleep, barely any food and no comfort. It was the thing that Emrys Wylt had agreed to upon getting her degree and accepting the job. That didn't change the fact that she was still ready to burst into tears and pass out. She was very emotional at this time. She couldn't believe that she had to keep stomaching and moving on while William was going through surgery after surgery and she couldn't be there. She was a doctor for God's sake! But right now, as she stumbled through the door to Will's room, that was barely in her mind. Her brain was finally shutting down.
She was caught by Juliet and brought gently down to the ground, where she sat there for a moment and breathed heavily.
"Breathe Emrys, breathe. Take a chill for a sec." Emrys heard the colleague say, and she looked up with glazed eyes. Juliet herself had been injured and was under murder investigation, yet she had refused to leave Will's side when Emrys wasn't there. For that she was grateful.
The strawberry blonde breathed shakily and nodded, "I'm alright Juliet. You can go home now."
"Em, you don't look it-"
"I kind of want some time to just sleep. I'll pull up a chair beside his bed." Emrys mumbled.
She didn't even see Juliet nod, all she felt was Juliet help her to her feet. Then as Juliet left without a word, Emrys dragged over a chair and started preparing it so that she could sleep properly.

Will had been once again sleeping.. as he had done as of yet, and hearning the noise in the room, he eyes fluttered open. It was Emrys, and Will turned his eyes away, to stop himself from crying. Emrys had been in and out of his room for days, and of course, the other personel at the hospital tried to keep her from him an aweful lot, mostly to keep her from breaking down.. which she had been threatening to do for sometime, and once Will woke up and caught her crying at is bedside.
He urned to see Ems close to collapsing again, and sighed. He had to assure her, as always. "Hey you.."

She jumped nearly a foot in the air and then she fell into the chair silently, shock on her face all over it. She then, from this seated position nodded to him blearily and tried to put on a smile, but she was failing miserably.
"Hey... I would've been here sooner, but I..." She sighed. "Burn victims. From the bomb." She looked extremely pained as she reached for his hand, making great care not to take hold of it in a way that would hurt him.
"You have no idea how much I want to be here all the time right now believe me." She murmered.

Will smiled, though through tear filled eyes. "I know, and I'm sorry, I never wanted this. I probably should have just left.. I .. I.. don't know what to say." he said, he didn't want to really say why he had turned back, he was perfectly content with the news story that he stayed behind to ensure people got out.

"Then don't say anything. We can discuss it afterwards." She said. She went to get up, her face in a fix of stress. She was going to check on his vitals and medicines and make sure that everything was working properly, her face stiff.
"For now... you might be able to get out early if I..." She shook her head. "No. It's not up to me.. I..." She closed her eyes.

Will moved his hand slightly, that arm having survived the fall without very much damage, and took her hand, running his thumb over it like he always did.
"Emrys, its ok, speak." he said, he knew she couldn't keep holding everything in.

"I can't tend to you physically William. It's a conflict of interests. Essentially I'm supposed to have lost my head when it comes to tending to those I love. I understand the psychological effects. I want to. I want to go over to that machine and tell you to keep your ass in bed and not move a muscle, but I'm not legally allowed." She picked up his hand gently and put it towards her cheek, tears streaming down her face. It was a reverse of a scene, a scene of two lovers, but the pink-haired woman was the one in bed in that scene, and the pink-head was dying quickly.
"Why... why did you... why?"

Will averted his eyes. He promised he would.
"I uh.. I'm surprise you didn't go through the stuff I had with me. The media is told I stayed to get people out, which I did. I told my friends and coworkers, like Juliet, that I had to get my family, which is also true, those pictures cannot be replaced, but.. there was something else. Something, special, to me, then I had wanted to wait, but nearly missed my chance." he said, pointing to the stack of clothes, pictures, and something else.

"It wasn't worth human life, whatever it was." Emrys said firmly as she went to the pile and started to rifle through it. "Nothing is worth human life..."
((Describe what I'm seeing please? ^_^))

Around the clothes he was wearing, which were burnt and some of them obviosuly needing to be thrown out, a melted name tag also dropped from the piles. Under those were pictures frames of his friends, the picture from the release of his weather warriors, picture of him and Emrys, another picture of Emrys, and the largest one, a picture of his parents.
But during the shifting, a small velvet box dropped onto the floor, it was also nocticeably black, but no damage was done.
"I talked to Alan.. he patched a call through and got that sent to me a few weeks ago, I wanted to wait, but then the bombing.. it was one of a kind, no way I could have bought another one. Honestly, I swore I would take care of it until the right time, making it worth the risk. I wanted to make it special but.." he said, as he allowed her to open it.
In it was a small, worn silver ring, with a welsh dragon encircling a brilliant emerald. It was handcrafted and passed down from generation, and was branded by the Wylt family name.
She would recognize it immediatly.
"Emrys, I guess the cat is out of the bad, never did I ever think I would meet someone like you, but I did. I've decided I found something worth more than anyting else in the word, and as I dropped fromt he top floor of that building to the ground, through the fire and smoke, and the rubble, I vowed that if I ever survived, I wouldn't wait anymore. Emrys Wylt..." he said, taking a breath and pausing, his chest still hurt.
"Would you marry me?"

She stared down at the ring, her mind swimming, her heart racing. The last time she had seen this ring, it had been passed down to Kristine from her grandmother Mary Wylt. It had been in the family, and it was rumoured to have been a gift from Merlin himself, though the more likely idea probably would've been that it was crafted by a man in their family who was obsessed with mythology.
She bowed her head and then put it on, speechless as she slipped it over her left ring finger. Then she came over to his side, forgetting about the rest of the things.
"I'll forgive you this time." She murmered quietly as she kissed his hand, using her ringed hand to hold it.

Will smiled,a nd closed his eyes, tears still falling. "I'm.. I'm glad." he said, gripping her hand after she kissed his.
"I promise you, Emrys, when I get our of here, I'll immediatly make arrangements, to make it official. I promise you.. it will be the best day of your life... our lives." he said, looking into her eyes, falling so deeply in love with her words couldn't describe it.

She smiled and patted his hand in her quiet way. That was what she was. She was quiet when it came to these things. She figured he knew what she would say anyway. She patted his hand gently, stroking it with her thumb, and then she got up, reluctantly letting go of his hand to check his vital charts.
"Let's get you started on the process then." She said as she took out her reading glasses, an exhausted but satisfied air about her. She looked down the page and then she shook her head.
"Wow... only that little of a dosage..." she murmered, and then she madly went through more papers, looking up at Will.
"How well do you think the morphine is working?" She asked, her tone once again business.

Will smiled as she turned back into doctor mode. It was something he found cute and touching ever since the begining, though sometimes he still counters her on it.
"What.. what's little of a dosage?" he inquired, curious, when she asked him about the morphine.
"I never really thought of it.. I guess it has been working, unless its suppose to completely numb me, then in which case it takes a few pushes to do so. Sometimes I still feel the sharp pain every now and then." he said, looking down at his other arm, which had recently been replaced from a normal cast to a wrist place since the bones had only been fractured, not borken it was discovered. That was the hand he held the morphine injection button.

"Hmm... well then I suppose it works." Emrys commented as she put down the clipboard and then she yawned once, then she rubbed her eyes. She shook her head. She had to keep going.
"However I think with assistance, if you wanted, I could probably wheel you outside in the wheel chair in about a week or so. I know how much you want to get out of bed without my permission, might as well give you it." She said in a business-like manner, looking over her glasses at him. "Most difficult patient I've ever had at this hospital, by far." She commented with a smirk.

Will also smriked. "A wheelchair? Do I have any pride left?" he teased, shaking his head. He adjusted himself to be a little more comfortable, and then lifted his head.
"Give me another week or so, I'll be much better, besides, I have a goal to be well enough to walk by the Spirit Festival." he said, rather cheery and took her hand again. "Hunny, take a seat, you look like you have been tearing your hair out. If anything I do have some good news." he said, trying to get her to sit down again.

She narrowed her eyes with irritation and growled.
"You lost your dignity when you fell down a building." She said darkly, but it wasn't the scary dark. It was the chibi gloom dark, the one that made most sweatdrop. However, she sat down quietly beside him and listened.

"Its not like I was trying to skydive from my office." he said, though he also sweatdropped. He stared at her with the traditional look of horror, and then smile, before starting to crack up.
Before long he was laughing, mostly because of a similar scene many, many times in their relationship. "You're right, I'll be sure to take the elevator, or even the stairs next time." he teased, trying to lighten the mood.
