Personality:

Aya is an incredibly happy-go-lucky girl who has seemingly limitless energy for her daily activities. While she is still quite young, she possesses an intelligence that is typically expected from someone much older than she and, when not having fun, acts more like an adult than a child.

History:

Aya was raised in an orphanage located in Washington DC, and has no knowledge of her real parents whatsoever. She was always told they had abandoned her and nothing else was known about them. When Aya turned ten, she began to have nightmares of all her friends being taken by shadows controlled an unknown person. It wasn't until she turned thirteen that she discovered the person in her nightmares controlling the shadows was her. Just as with the subject of her parents, nobody would speak to Aya about the nightmares or what they meant, instead they decided she should be sent to Duel Academy to start her life outside the orphanage. At first she was reluctant, but through her own research about her destination, she found out they taught classes on shadow magic and related subjects. Deciding she would find her answers there, she packed the few things she owned and left for San Melina.
