History:

Astennu was born in America to an eclectic family that loved dueling. His father and mother run a family owned restaurant which allowed for Astennu and his twin sister Meskhenet Khepri, to lead interesting lives during their younger years. Both of them were very social in their early teenage years and that is how they came to enjoy the game of duel monsters. Their mother was a prominent duelist and in seeing Astennu and his sister's interest in the game saw her teaching them both about it.

Astennu himself took his mother's teachings and developed his own style of play. He dueled a lot in junior tournaments and found himself to be a good competitor...ruthless at times but always a good sport. During middle school his mother surprised him with a gift on his 14th birthday. He was enrolled in the San Melina Academy and now he had the chance to become even better. Eagerly he agreed to it and began preparing himself for the trip.

However, during this time something happened that changed his outlook on the game of duel monsters. It was around this time he was beginning to master a recently released Servant Set. He found them to be a set that he worked best with and began to work hard to continue to master strategies for it. However, it was during one of the last tournaments that he entered back home on the east coast that something happened that surprised him. He had summoned Servant - Saber and he could have sworn that before his last attack, she turned to him slightly and smiled before finishing the duel. Something similar happened earlier in that duel with Archer and Rider. It was strange to him but he simply let it go...until he left the building. It was then he walked outside to be greeted by none other than the spirits of Saber, Archer, and Rider.

After explaining what happened in the duel, the three of them asked if they could follow him for a while. Astennu not knowing what else to say eagerly accepted...and during his first two years at the Academy studied to learn all he could about Duel spirits. He continues his research even today and continues to master the set in which his friends had come from.
