Isaac was born in Domino city, Japan to a family gaining in wealth due to investments in Kaiba Corp. He was spoiled right from the beginning. His parents bought him everything he wanted or needed so that he could live his life in luxury. As he grew up from an infant, he turned out to be a seriously spoiled child. His parents still bought him everything, even 3 years after he was born, giving him the impression he could get whatever he wanted.Status: 4th year
When Isaac turned 7, he entered school. For all of his spoiled behavior, he was very intelligent, and was bumped up to 4th grade a few weeks after entering. Because of his spoiled attitude, he got into trouble a lot and had little friends. Most of the 4th graders didn't like Isaac because of his age and anyone his age hated him because of how smart he was. Only a single group approached him; a group that played Duel Monsters all the time. The group was made up of many different grades as well, ranging from 2nd to 8th.
They introduced Isaac to the game, and eventually, somehow, got him to cease his spoiled attitude. They taught him about the game, allowed him to watch, and gave him a beginner's deck to play with. Because of his intelligence, he quickly became an excellent player. Within a year, he was the best player in the school, though the school's duelists were not very good.
When Isaac was about to enter 7th grade a few years later, he was forced to move to another end of Domino. By this time, he had developed an extremely cocky attitude about his own dueling abilities, and he had the skills and decks to back his attitude up. At his new school, he made no friends at all due to his new nature. Everyone detested him, especially the best duelist in the school, Chaltier. The two got into a duel, and through a lucky draw, Isaac won the duel.
This only boosted his already unfavorable nature. He continued boasting about his success for nearly a year. By this time, he was 12 and had many "friends" due to his victory. It was around this time he was again challenged by his rival. In only a few turns, he had lost the duel. Humbled and ridiculed, Isaac graduated eight grade.
Over the summer break, he worked on improving his dueling skills and getting rid of his thingyy nature. By the end of the break, and at the beginning of his first year at duel academy, he challenged his rival to a duel. The situation reverse, he won the duel quickly. He made friends with his rival after 2 years of bitter rivalry, and they formed a group of duelists with the purpose of helping other duelists improve. During their search, he met a fellow duelist named Marian. The two dueled and tied, and they became friends. They spent a arge amount of time together, and eventually fell in love.
But all was not as it seemed. When he was 14, four years after his entrance to the academy, during a weekend, he and his friend were kidnapped. Their abductors were a pair of duelists that they had beaten a few years ago who were out for revenge. Isaac and Chaltier were forced into a Shadow Duel, and lost when their abductors used decks built to counter theirs. Both Isaac and Chaltier were sent to the Shadow Realm as a result of their loss.
Four years passed, and Isaac was still in the Realm of Darkness. Chaltier and himself had lost each other years ago in the infinite darkness. He knew that he had been extremely lucky to have lasted this long. By this time, Isaac was starting to give up hope of ever finding a way out. But fate had other ideas. After he had fallen asleep at some point, he woke to find himself in a dark room. An actual, solid room. The room looked like an dorm room at an academy, but it was not the academy he had used to go to.
Isaac soon found out that he had been enrolled in the San Meina Dueling Academy in the United States. He had never heard of it before, but he had no choice to accept it. He got his decks and duel disk ready and prepared for a new life.
A few weeks into his enrollment, he met Kayla Lantash. They had bumped into each other in the hall, causing Kayla to drop her deck. After he helped pick it up, Isaac agreed to tutor Kayla in dueling. This was the start of a relationship Isaac had never seen coming, which enraged Noss Takasei.
The relationship lasted but a few weeks, when Isaac flew back to Domino to find his parents and friends. He learned that both of his parents and all of his friends had also disappeared soon after Chaltier's and his own. There was no explanation other than they just vanished overnight. Knowing what had probably happened to them, Isaac visited His old, yet still empty home. There, he met one of his old captors.
The man took quick action when he saw Isaac, pinning him against a wall and tying him down. After ransacking the house, the man returned his attention to Isaac. Recognizing a previous victim, the man questioned Isaac on how he had escaped his punishment. When Isaac replied that he didn't know, the man became annoyed. He wiped Isaac's memories, all of them except his name, and told Isaac to go back to San Melina. For the lack of anywhere else to go, Isaac followed the man's advice and returned to the San Melina Dueling Academy.
Upon his return to the Academy, Isaac was confronted by Noss. She gave him some advice on how best to obtain more power, to which Isaac refused. She also referred to him as Romeo, which puzzled him, though he did not show it and just played along. When the conversation ended, Isaac left to his own dorm room and began planning on what he would do he had no past or direction.
