The sun is a very good metaphor for Miyako Tachibana. She is a lot like it, and enjoys giving warmth and happiness to others. She loves to see people thrive and almost thrives on other people thriving. Even if she’s having a bad day, she knows that it will be good if others are happy. She spends much of her time demonstrating this through volunteer work and customer service working at the library on the island and through her work as a rank tester.

She’s very group-orientated and makes a good leader, but she also makes a good follower should the need come up. She’s very organized and tends to do things as she sees that they should be done. But this only goes so far; she’s far better at organizing other lives then she is her own. She can be seen as bossy and rude by some but she only means it in good spirit. She encourages people and she tries to help as much as she can.

She’s also incredibly artistic. She finds art in everything and applies it to her computer programming. She excels at programming and web design. But she’s influenced by the people around her; if she gets critiqued too much, she’ll start to think that it’s worth nothing. She’s also very intolerant of people who nag her and prefers to be encouraged. In fact she almost needs to be shown ‘the right way’ once and is very unconfident with her first, second, even tenth attempts.

When it comes to her friendships she can be very ‘clingy’ and affectionate. She’s generous with what she has and she’s very caring of others. When she has a love interest she is incredibly blunt about her feelings, which can result in scaring them away a little. But if she finds the right one, and someone who loves her back, that person will experience nothing but devotion and gratitude.

She’s very passionate and very imaginative, as well as incredibly faithful. Yet she can be very sensitive. Sometimes people will say something unintentional that she will take offense to. Living with her and associating with her can sometimes be incredibly difficult.

History:

Miyako was born August 13, 2015 in Matsushima, which was located a half an hour away from Sendai. The town was famous for it being Japan’s most scenic view with its bay that was decorated by pine trees and for Zuiganji, one of the region’s most important Zen temples. It was a place that her parents, two previous victims of Shadow Duels, had retreated to for a bit of healing. Her mother is a peaceful worker at Kanrantei, a Momoyama style tea house built in the region, while her father works in Sendai as a private duelling teacher. Miyako herself has an older sister named Mizuki of whom she’s fond of.

When she was young, Miyako was immersed in all forms of technology and culture. With tourists coming through the area of Matsushima, she learned to pick up on all sorts of languages and cultures, and people have always fascinated her. As a little girl she often went in with her mother to work where she was a little serving girl at the tea house, and was often referred to as the tea house’s treasure. She learned Japanese and as a result of so many English tourists, English and speaks both incredibly fluently.

When she was young she also would help with the tea house’s finance managing. This caused her to be involved a lot with computers and perked her interest in them. By the time she was eight she was on several websites and forums in both Japanese and English. She also learned a lot about website design and coding, as well as started early on her obsession with programming. She was learning how to design small game programs in a now obsolete programming language called Java +++ by the age of twelve.

However her education in duelling came far before that from her father. She was learning how to duel before she was in middle school and was blessed with a gift to see duel spirits as soon as she picked up her first deck. She has with her a beautiful spirit called Eria the Water Charmer, the charmer that reflects both her ocean-side culture and love for the water, as well as her Spellcasters, the deck that she mains. With Eria comes Gigobyte, the fun-loving and perverted little reptile familiar.

Upon the age of thirteen, she started out at Duel Academy. Though she started in the Ra house two years ago, she was still a very gifted student and a lovely friend. She made friends easily, mostly with the older students and at the age of fourteen made her way up to the top house of Obelisk. She became a Librarian on the island as well as a rank tester around the same time.

However upon her third year she was given the oppurtunity for further places. She is currently an exchange student at San Melina Academy, and is looking for new experiences.
