Tyson had spare clothes and lotion amongst other things in a locker at the little shack thing the school provided. Tyson himself was in swimming shorts, and fighting the rushing tide. Swimming was what he did, and in the ocean, was where it was the best. The current was his worse enemy, and he won all the time. Pools were great for laps and all, and he loved them, but the rush the ocean provided was what called to his heart.

Zoé watched him from the shore for a moment. She had on a black one piece that had enough slits in it to be a bikini. Over her shoulder was a bag with a towel, sunblock, and some slip over clothes. After a moment, she tossed her bag on the sand and started over to him. "HEY HOT STUFF! The water cooling you off?"

Tyson stopped swimming and began to float... after a bit, he recognized Zoé and beckoned for her to join him.
"I don't know! You tell me!"
He wasn't going to front, she looked good at the moment, and if she was going to flirt...

she stood at the water edge and looked out over the water. "I should have brought my surf board, but that's not as easy to sneak around as just my body." She took off her black flip-flops and tossed them to her bag. She started into the water. "If it's not cooling you off, then I'm not sure what does."

"It's not that cold, if that's what you mean."
Tyson let the waves bring him closer to the shore and waded until he was able to stand to match her height. He wasn't sure how to greet her, so he figured he'd just ask.
"Should I offer a hug or what?"

"If you want." She winked at him before giving him a splash. "Do you surf?"

Tyson took the splash in exchange for offering the hug.
"I ate that. It's just water. I surf some, yea, but I like swimming more. I'm built a swimmer too."
Tyson flowed naturally in water. He should've been part fish, the way he moved through water. Maybe it was because he'd been doing it since he was about four. Fourteen years of experience was good, practice makes perfect.

"Awesome." She did a surface dive and came up a few yards away. Her hair was out of her face now so she pulled it back into a tight pony tail. "We should surf together then. It's more fun when you have a friend to talk about it with."

"Sure. I don't own a board anymore though. I used to have one, but it broke when I challenged the ocean and lost once. Almost drowned then too, but that couldn't keep me away from my passion."
Tyson himself waded deeper again before submerging and swimming underneath for a comfortable 10 seconds before resurfacing beside her, his own blond hair was down, matted on his head.

Zoé nodded. "I crashed once into a boat... first I whipped out and the next thing I knew, when I surfaced, I hit my head into the side of the boat and blacked out..." She rubbed the side of her head in thought. "Though scary for me, I think yours was worse." She grinned. "Now that we're both in the water, shall we see who's the better swimmer?"

Tyson nodded. There was a buoy that marked the water level the students weren't supposed to pass... another rule thing Tyson broke frequently. It was pretty far out, and a good distance to judge a race with. Tyson pointed at it.
"First to touch that. How's that?"

She looked at it and mentally judged the distance. She turned to him with a smile. "Sounds a blast. You call start." She took a quick stretch before reading herself.

Tyson submerged again, getting a small shell, and coming back up with it. Holding it up for her to see, he spoke.
"I'll throw it up. When it hits the water again, that's the go."
Tyson then launched it high into the air, and almost straight up. It would splash not too far from them and he'd be ready to go when it happened.

Zoé watched the shell go up into the air. She gave him a grin. "Think it'll even come down?" She didn't wait for a retort. When the shell hit the water, she took off in a front crawl.

When Tyson heard the splash, he started off with a strong simple breaststroke. It would get him all the way to the buoy and it would allow him to speed up too, if Zoé started to gain on him, as they were pretty even, him having a slight lead.

Zoé kept going strong but paced. She didn't want to lose--not that she was a winaholic or anything. She just liked to be good at something. She looked up at the buoy. Near a third of the way. Not to bad.

It wasn't enough... Tyson began to swim freestyle, swimming faster then before. This was too peaceful for him, and while his rage was normally dormant, it never quelled. This was his way to beat it, and his passion. He swam as quick as he could towards that buoy, and wanted to pass it, and fight the currents that would work to tear him out to the pacific, he wanted to take it all out in the ocean, and his swimming reflected it as he sped along.

"Hot Hell..." She muttered and stopped pacing herself. She swam as fast as she could to try to pass him--or at the least keep up!

Tyson hadn't heard her fleeting voice, when he had began to create distance between them, the water was all he knew now. The repetitive motion of body and water. He'd passed halfway, and was much closer to being about 3/4 the way there. Tyson's emotions came through to him while he swam. Other than dueling, it was all he had...

Zoé slowed down with a defeated look. She couldn't catch up with him. She was only a little over half way.
