((.... I was thinking along the lines of she knew most of their parents and forgot about Sara and Rei... UBER SAVE!))
"I said majority, Miss Piper. I know about Rei and her wife." Mizuki said with a wink. "But for those of you who don't know how most schools work, use your imagination. For instance, Miss Piper, if you were in my position, what would you be teaching right now?" Mizuki asked.

"Hell if I know, ma'am." Rei wasn't a particularly amazing duelist, but she had been a Guardian once upon a time, so History was in the Lantash bloodline. Of course, Piper Harada wasn't technically part of all that nonsense, but she was family nonetheless. "Ancient Egypt-y stuff?"

"Well perhaps for one of the units. Actually, most likely for the first unit, but there's examples of Duel Monsters all over the world. Can anyone list where else it has been sighted in history?" Mizuki asked.

Kayla tilted her head in question. Richard had told her, but she forgot. "Um... somewhere in Europe?"

"Almost everywhere." Andromeda said quietly. "Egypt, England, and Japan most prominently, though, but Duel Monsters influences almost all ancient cultures. Including the Lost Cities."

"Good answers from the both of you." She smiled a bit. She expected nothing less from the daughters of Morgan and Katsu. Especially Morgan's daughter, but she chose not to bring attention to it.
"Miss LeFay has the gist of it. England, Egypt, Japan and Atlantis were the four major places. Egypt used it in the form of ka, and Japan adapted that principal. However, we'll be covering the history of the places and countries who have had interaction with Duel Monsters and Duel Spirits... with some focus on how they were integrated into their society but none the less." She went to her desk and opened a laptop, then went to her blackboard and pulled down a white screen. Then, she played something from the laptop through a projector - a slide show.
She turned and smiled. "Now would be the time to take notes." She wouldn't print anything for her classes. She had the belief that, unless you had learning disabilities, you learned the best from copying it down.

Syaoran already had out his books and his eyes flicked over to Brandy. He rolled his eyes. The girl hadn't even brought a pencil. He took out a bag (he seemed to be prepared for Brandy not having her things) and tossed it to her, with a pencil, a pen, and a whole bunch of looseleaf in a binder.
"You owe me Brandy." He said with a faint smile.

"Yeah yeah shaddap Syaoran." Brandy said sourly as she took out the things. Damn him... he almost seemed to know exactly what she would need. Curse him for being so damn smart-ass like all the time.
She shook her head. The idiot... for a smart guy he was a complete idiot.

Kayla giggled at them. It reminded her of herself and Richard. How she missed him... She took notes as the slides continued. This class was going to be interesting?

"Well, I hope you have your pencils and papers ready." She said as she pressed play on the slideshow.
"There have been some sightings of Duel Monsters magic over the centuries, with the greatest concentration in Egypt, Atlantis and Japan. But, there have also been incidents in other countries which we will be covering as well. However, our first country is very recent history, so hopefully you know this pretty well. It's more mine and your parent's generation, but you might have heard it around the house."
A picture of the Japanese flag popped up.
"So, the basic first question. What is the origins of Duel Monsters in Japan?"

"Industrial Illusions." Noss said simply and plainly. "It's that big building down the street. Not only is it the origin in Japan, but I-squared repopularized it in the entire world."

"Correct." She wanted to laugh. Typical Takasei. Plain, simple, to the point.
"That's a nice, quick answer, but for some elaboration, Industrial Illusions created it after Maximillion Pegasus got an inspiration for it by going to the Egyptian tombs. There he came in contact with many different things, including the origins of Duel Monsters in Egypt - stone tablets with ka or evil spirits in them - and how they were activated, the Millennium Items. At least, originally at first. The Twilight and Dawn came to follow... but I'm sure Doctor Takasei can cover that in her class." She said, cutting off the line of thought.
"Maximillion Pegasus got the inspiration from it, and now we're going to cut a little bit into Professor Cascada's department with this next question. What was the first starter set that he introduced?"
((Aka, what's the first YGO starter set or pack?))

She blinked slowly and tilted her head quizzically. "Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon?"

Mizuki wanted so badly to answer Noss' question with 'I don't know, is it?' to make her not answer with questions, but she realized that when she was a kid, she did the exact same thing.
"Correct. Good job Miss Takasei." She said with a smile befitting of Alan Padmore. That was who she was taking her teaching methods from. Alan had been one of those kind teachers, even if he was innocent beyond belief.
She started pressing buttons on the laptop. "We'll be covering as our first unit the introduction of Duel Monsters in Japan and the impact that it had in Japanese culture and the economy. Then, after that, we'll be covering the origins of Duel Monsters in Egypt and how it influenced their lives, including some people of certain positions that were influential with dueling." She smiled. "I'm sure I'll get a lot of class interaction on that. Then, after that, we'll be covering Atlantis, and finally we'll cover places that there has been evidence of dueling history, such as India and Central America. Minor places." She looked around at the class, waiting for their reactions.

Tyson sauntered into class into class handing his late pass to the teacher. It wasn't uncommon that he was late, and a good amount of time he wouldn't even show up at all. Somehow, he still got the grades needed to succeed. He wore only his blazer, out of his school uniform, with it's 5 purple stripes on the cuff. He knew that Miss Haruka didn't agree with some of his habits, but she was probably his favorite teacher. Besides, she looked good, reason enough to come some of the times, right?
"I apologize, Miss Haruka."
He took his seat, after giving her a smile, and really address the others. It wasn't that he didn't like them all, but a good portion of the opposite, as well as disliking them all somewhat(Don't say it...NM).

She sighed. Tyson Gold. She had seen before that he would most likely be late. It was recorded on his roster.
"Welcome to class Mr. Gold." The Japanese woman said.

Kayla tilted her head to the side at the new student. His last name was Gold? Was he like Richie Rich and really rich? Or, better wording, was Mr. Gold really gold? She furrowed her brow. She had officially confused herself.

(Tyson isn't new)
Tyson sighed, leaning back in his chair, and then slouching, and finally going into his draw-string bag to pull out a small piece of his honey bun and discreetly eating it. If Haruka wouldn't continue, why was he here?

(("Welcome to San Melina, California, where the first duel academy of America is about to be established and take off into its first year."
I beg to differ mon ami. And just because you're impatient ooc doesn't mean I'm not continuing, twit.))
"Now to start in on some history about different duelists that came out of Japan, just to sort of wrap up the lesson. We'll be starting on the hard stuff next lesson." She clapped her hands. "Seto Kaiba. A fact about him from each one of you. If you don't know anything about him, just say pass. Go."

(in comparison... nvm I can't win this...)
"He owns, and leads Kaiba corp, which heavily contributes to our present day dueling."
Tyson just couldn't get comfortable in the chair. He sat up straight while answering, and then leaned forward and sighed softly. It was a lost hope... he was in class...
