A New Day (Open/Intro)

The sun was bright in the sky as Astennu entered the courtyard. He saw many people running about with either books or duel disks on them. He walked with his Academy style duel disk on his arm and his backpack on as he decided to stop and look around.

The school hasn't changed that much since his first arrival here but he feels the excitement every time. He knew that eventually, he would meet new students and get the chance to duel them. He had taken the time off before the start of the semester to get into some duels and improve his Servant deck. He took a seat at the fountain and decided to relax before he had to rush to class. The summer mornings were always something to look forward to here in San Melina. He was happy his parents decided to allow him to come to the Academy here.

"A beautiful morning isn't it, Astennu?" asked a smooth voice as someone appeared next to him in a sitting position. It was a voice that Astennu knew well and it was a welcomed voice in the mornings.

"Indeed it is, Rider. What brings you out this morning?" asked Astennu as he looked at Rider.

"What cant a girl come out and spend time with her partner?" asked Rider in a playful tone.

"Even if he said no, you'd do it anyway Rider." said another voice this one more serious than Rider's. It was then that on Astennu's right appeared Servant - Archer who was in a standing position.

"Too true, Archer." said Rider with a smirk on her face.

"It may be true but the morning is always something to behold. I hope you are ready for today, Astennu." said one last voice as one other presence revealed itself as she walked towards Astennu and her fellow servants. In her normal Armored Dress, appeared Saber. She approached and looked at Astennu...she had charged herself with making sure that Astennu remained responsible enough to continue succeeding here in the Academy.

"Of course, I am Saber...I do have everything so don't worry about it." said Astennu as he looked at the Duel Spirit.

It was then that Astennu looked around...he knew that not everyone could see duel spirit and hoped that he wasn't looking like a crazy idiot right now...he lost count of how many embarrassing times that's happened.

For lack of anything better to do, Jenna was out wandering the courtyard. Just wandering, having no real destination in mind but getting away from where she was...kind of a habit, after what happened.

"...so don't worry about it" Jenna heard someone talking and instantly turned to the sound of the voice. She saw no one but another student...a year above her, based on the color of his epaulets. She didn't see anyone else around, but in this day and age of technological advance, that didn't mean no one else was listening to him.

Jenna walked over to the boy, making a quizzical look and held her hand to her ear, as if to silently ask "Are you talking to someone over the phone?"

(OOC: Jenna can't see duel spirits, but since this is still the age of Bluetooth, she wouldn't suspect anything odd.)

"Hey, Astennu, Incoming at three o' clock...and judging by what I'm seeing, I don't think she has the sight." said Rider with a smirk on her face.

Turning his eyes and head a little to keep the other side of his head away from Jenna. It was then she looked at him wondering if he was on the phone. It was then that Astennu made a quick move and said.

"Alright, I'll talk to you later, Mom...bye." said Astennu as he made a motion to remove a bluetooth and place it in his pocket.

Archer simply smirked at the smooth move that Astennu just pulled. He just might have spared himself another one of those "Are you crazy or something?" incidents.

"It was my mom she called to check in on me, since she's on the other side of the country." said Astennu as he turned completely to the girl who came over to him. "Good Morning to you, by the way."

Jenna chuckled a bit, but on the inside she felt a bit sorry for herself. After what happened back then...she knew it wasn't her fault, that nothing could have stopped it. But that didn't mean she didn't miss them, the marshals weren't exactly conducive to raising children, it had become apparent some time ago. But then again, that's why she was here...

She snapped out of her little reverie quickly, after all she had a cover to keep. "Y-yes...Good morning." She stuck out her hand. "Jas-er.." silently she wanted to kick herself, but she knew it wouldn't be the last time she made that slip-up. at least she caught it.
"My name's Jenna; Jenna Harmon. you?"

Astennu smiled at Jenna as he sat on the edge of the fountain as he took her hand shaking it with a surprisingly smooth and gentle hand.

"Astennu...Astennu Kephri...it's nice to meet you, Jenna. You're a student right...second year if I"m looking at things right?" asked Astennu as he looked at her.

Saber, Archer, and Rider all stood watching the scene unfold. Rider had a smirk on her face knowing she could easily tease Astennu about this later. Archer watched with an undeterminable emotion on his face. And Saber watched stoically making sure that Astennu would be alright.

"Kephri?" Jenna asked quizzically, the name certainly sounded weird..."Is that an Egyptian name, or am I completely off base?" still, she took the boy's hand and shook, before sitting next to him on the fountain. Not especially close, but she wasn't trying to avoid him either.

"Yeah, it's Egyptian. I got it from my Grandfather. He was an immigrant from Egypt and he came here looking for work and good dueling competition." said Astennu with a smile as he looked at Jenna. "So, enjoying the early summer morning before classes?"

Astennu watched as she sat next to him. He wasn't surprised when she asked about his name...it was something he got a lot in school and in town.

Jenna nodded. "Yeah, I'm hoping the weather stays like this...I grew up in Indiana, you never knew what the weather would throw at you." She said, keeping her eyes looking up and to the right, just like she had been told so many times...even if it was a lie, she had to maintain the sense that it wasn't. She couldn't risk letting anyone find her, after what she had done.

"Well, I need to unpack some things. Maybe we'll see each other in class." Jenna stood up and straightened her skirt, brushing a bit of dust off it. "Nice meeting you, Astennu."

"It has been nice meeting you as well, Jenna. I guess I shall be seeing you around then." said Astennu as he watched he stood up as well smiling.

Astennu wasn't sure why she was looking away all the time but at this point he simply took it as her looking up at the sky. Saber, Archer and Rider continued to watch them quietly...when they left...they would have their own things to say to Astennu...but for now, they would observe this conversation between them.
