It was amazing how much American money she got out of the British Pound. She didn't even trade up one fifth of her savings and she still had enough to go out and buy some random stuff that she wanted. She was in Cali after all so maybe some new summer clothing was something she could go get. Hit the beach later or something? "Hoe vreemd. De mensen schijnen hier thuis verschillend van de mensen te zijn," she mused quietly.
Not only was she still not aware of her language change at the moment, but it was Dutch this time, a language she wasn't so good at. It was then the sun shone brightly in the sky, enough to make Espoir put her hand above her eyes to shade it a bit from the light's intensity. "Or maybe some sunglasses might be in order."

Tyson needed to get a new surf board. Well, he didn't need one, but could afford it with the cash his father mailed to him. He probably needed a job of his own... maybe he could be a lifeguard? He'd have to ask SMA staff. Once again, he let his other actions get the best of him, and he bumped into another person. Once again, his scowl made it's way on to his face. He really needed to pay attention. The lady hadn't even been speaking english at one point, so this might be difficult to patch together...
"Sorry. Are you O.K?"

After a wince and a slight movement of her arm, she nodded signifying that she was fine. "Yes, I'm alright. Don't worry about it," she stated. Now Espoir wasn't good with people so she was standing there silently, having no clue as to whether to instigate a conversation or just leave it at that.

Her uncertainty was rubbing off on him, and Tyson shifted uncomfortably. She lingered, but didn't say anything. That meant she was waiting for him to say something?
"Well, you can blame Tyson for knocking into you today. That's my name, nice to meet you..."
He stuck out his hand, but gave her a questioning look, not having her name.

Espoir looked at him then down to his hand. If American gestures wasnt different from European gestures, that ment she should shake his hand right? She placed her hand in his to shake his hand before responding, "Its a pleasure to meet you. Espoir doesn't mind getting bumped into, as long as it was an accident," she said with a smile. Interesting way to meet someone, but it wasn't an unusual way either. "Its safe to assume that my name is Espoir by the way."

Tyson laughed at the usage of the 3rd person. She was an interesting person, to be sure. He didn't notice her, so maybe she would want a temporary guide to help her shop or something.
"Espoir then. What were you doing around here, if you don't mind me asking?"
Of course it was shopping, but he ought to make sure anyway. She could've been just passing through.

"Browsing. I was thinking of shopping a bit but I have no idea what to buy," she admitted shamefully. Lets see, random guy she meets on the street starts talking to her and asking her lots of random stuff. Why did this seem like some sort of random movie scene? "Why? What were you doing?"

"Getting a surf board myself. This is where most of the shopping gets done, seeing as the stores are here. I spend most of my time on the beach swimming in the ocean, and recently a friend of mine raised my will to get another surfboard to replace my old broken one."
Tyson gesticulated appropriately, and his voice grew slightly more passionate when swimming got involved.

"Surfing? That must be a fun thing to do," she commented. She watched surfers on televison before but never actually saw one in person. She knew it was a dangerous sport though, and didnt dare try to learn it. She didnt even know how to swim in the first place, so how was she suppose to try surfing?
She noted how Tyson reacted when he started talking about swimming and things of the like. Was it really that fun? She chuckled, "Maybe I should learn."

"I'd like to think I'm a great swimmer. I think I'll apply to be a lifeguard. If you really want, sure I could teach you how to swim. It'll take you a while, and there probably won't be instant results if you do try and learn though."
For some reason, Tyson felt like he'd known Espoir for a long amount of time... He didn't think he'd offer just anyone free swimming lessons...

She was surprised at his offer. She sure didn't expect that to happen. "As long as your not a serial killer, rapist, kidnapper, molester, or all of the above then sure. I'll be glad to take you up on your offer," she replied with a smile. Well she sure did meet interesting people but then again she said some of the most interesting things herself. "And I don't expect instant results. I thought it would be fun, thats all."

Tyson laughed... he didn't think he'd ever become any of those. They weren't interesting or fun, and he never saw the motive behind doing any other those negative things. There was no drive behind it, no rhyme or reason.
"Sure, last time I checked, I was clean. Trade phones with me and give me a call whenever you want it to occur. I'm not great with planning ahead too much, sorry."
Tyson offered his phone to Espoir.

"Uh sure," she said as she rummaged through her purse for her cell. When she found it, she handed it to him while taking his cell in her hands. In America, trading phones ment to take the other's phone and enter your own number before trading back, right? She entered her name and cell number into his phone before saying something. "So do you think I'll be drowning alot on my first try?"

Tyson offered to return her phone after putting in his number and picture, and setting it so his picture always showed when he called. It was something he always did.
"Drowning, no, I won't let that happen. Failure to float? Oh yea... a lot. I'll be with you at all times though, you won't have anything to worry about."
Tyson gave her what he hoped, was a reassuring smile.

She laughed, "Alright then. I'll hold you to that," she stated in an upbeat tone of voice. She quickly followed his example and took a picture of herself and set it with her number before giving his cell phone back in exchange for her's. "But aside from that, do you know anything fun to do around here besides that? I get bored quite easily so, I need something to occupy my time and all."

"Depends, what sort of things are you interested in?"
San Melina was broad. If one's likes were broad then San Melina did just about everything for them. If not, San Melina wouldn't be too interesting. It was a well-spread out of the city.

"Hm... well Im a technological science major so maybe some arcade? Then again those Japanese cartoons are fun as well. More so anime then manga cause then I can just watch the anime without having to read," she replied. Besides that she really didnt know what she liked or wanted to do. She, herself, hardly left the house when she was in Britian. Maybe it was because she never had the motivation to. "Im really up for anything though."

"Alright, I'm going to go into the store, and order my board. Since there are a couple of designs I want on it, I can't just take it with me. It'll get ordered you see. In the meanwhile, you think of the one thing you want to do most. Since ordering the board will take me about three minutes, that's plenty of time. If it's readily available, and you haven't ditched me, I'll take you to wherever."
Tyson went into a nearby store that was clearly for the beach.

Espoir nodded as a response as he went into the store. She sighed, everyone in this town was so nice to her. Its not like she was complaining but she did wonder why sometimes. Was everyone just that nice of people?
She leaned against a nearby lamppost and folded her arms as she did. So what did she want to do? "Hm... the arcade seems fun," she said softly to herself. She knew that the arcade was fun with more than one person going and she was interested in american gaming. So why not?

(thinking about it, I'm fairly certain we don't have an arcade, lol)
Tyson had concluded his business inside after a few minutes like he said he would, and left the store, swinging his keys around his finger, a habit he did when he needed something to do with his hands. She hadn't ditched him, that was a good thing. He wondered why. Most people wouldn't have even stuck around after he bumped into them.
"What have you chosen then?"
