Cerise sat in the old lot practicing her violin. She liked practicing here. She was playing an old song by the band Barenaked Ladies, a song called "Maybe you're Right." "Morningways look good in blue." came a voice from behind Cerise. She spun and saw her aunt Veronica "It's good to see you up and about, kiddo." "Blue means I'm getting older, not better. But thanks, Aunt Ronnie." she paused and nodded slowly at the next line. Yeah, up and about. This was two weeks after a building fell on her head. She still had her arm in a sling, "I can't play violin yet." "You will, kid. And think of it this way, about the colors. It's easier to get purple here than it is in Japan." She exhaled and looked down, "Your father called me up and sent me to check on you. Says you haven't called since the bombing." She was silent a moment and said, "He'll come into town to see the President at the memorial." " Shall I take back everything I've ever said And live my whole life in silence instead?"

Marylin had been busy at this point looking for things that would allow her to go adventuring in the caves as she had orginaly planned. She had found some good rope and some other supplies. But as she was walking around she had heard the sounds of a Violin. The song she was playing was familar. Walking forward she saw the Violin player and smiled listening.
"You play well."

She continued to play for the girl, giving a thankful and encouraging smile. "Then sit and listen. Sing if you know it."

"Alright...let's see..."
Marylin waited for the right set of notes...she had heard the song before and was more than willing to give it a go. She wasn't ashamed ofh er voice...and at least Mashiro wasn't here to mess it up for her by distracting.
"It was oversimplified It was underthought And nothing was ever done to stop it Everything was fortified by All the lies we bought And nothing was ever done to stop it

"Shall I take back everything I've ever said And live my whole life in silence instead?"
She chimed in with a smile and added a little vibrato at this point to add a more passionate feel to the phrase. "You're good."

"So are you..." said Marylin as she again waited for her cue.
As she listened to Cerise' playing and singing she noted a change to make things more passionate. It seemed she was definately into her music so she would do her best to help her make it good. Adding a little more energy and passion into it
Shall I take back everything I've ever said
(Shall I take back all my attacks? All of my accusations?) And live my whole life in silence instead? (All my mistrust - we never discussed anyone's reservations)
There was a time When a crime was a crime Now I think I'm losing my mind Or taking it all too hard Taking it all too hard Taking it all too hard

Maybe you're right, maybe you're right, maybe you're right But I don't think so.
She bowed another measure before ending the song sharply and in a crescendo.

Marylin smiled and applauded Cerise as she sat there next to Cerise. She had heard talented musicians more than once in her life and to say the least she was happy to see this one. She could sing and she could play an instrument. Not something you come across everyday.
"That was great...Miss, thanks for letting me sing with you."

"My aunt, who is kind of my hero, she gave me a small, crappy violin for my fourth birthday. It was the one she had when she was young. She promised to buy me a nice one when I turned ten if I got good." Cerise smiled and ran a hand along her instrument. "This is a well-made, well kept, two-hundred year old violin. I'm Cerise Morningway, by the way."

"Two-Hundred Years? Amazing..that's a piece of history there, Cerise...I hope you take good care of it. For me, I'm Marylin Nadie...how's your day been?" asked Marylin curiously.

"Very well..." She smiled a little and put her violin in it's case. "All good violins are old. Many violinists think of a violin as not being truly theirs, but think of themselves as being one of the violin's virtuosos."

"I agree, while new things are good...it's the old items that are true treasures. That violin has probably been with your family for generations...think of all the history that could be there with it. So, do you believe it is yours...or simply another of it's virtuosos?" asked Marylin curiously.

"I'm still young. I don't know if I belong to it or it to me." She said with a smile and closed the case, and then she stood, stretching a little and looking up at the sky, burnt orange with the setting sun. "So, Marylin, what do you do for fun?"

"What do I do for fun...hmmm?" asked Marylin to herself as she though about it.
As she did she got a grin on her face. She wasn't ashamed of what she did for fun...and could only hope that she wouldn't think her crazy.
"Well, I plan and work out ideas for adventures. It's why I have this rope and other supplies. Also, I enjoy a good duel or two...or checking out more and more new mysterious adventures."

"You certainly look like an adventurer." Cerise giggled and looked over Marylin, rather obviously but easily dismissed. "I could see you running through pyramids looking for lost treasures."

"Oh yeah, I've done that one before. That time I was with my Mom. I had never seen so many traps in my life." said Marylin with a laugh.

"I know, right? I'd like to hire ancient Egyptians to do my home security." Cerise laughed, totally unaware that Marylin was being serious.

"As much as you would...believe me they are a pain do disarm. Or to avoid getting hit with them." said Marylin remembering a dig in Egypt where she and her Mom had to run around avoiding many traps.

She laughed and nodded. She reached into a bag she had beside her. She made a habit of bringing a little bit extra food just in case someone came by. She offered half a sandwich to Marylin and pulled out two bottles of soda. "I guess you're right, Marylin."

"Oh believe me...when you've done it yourself at least 5 times in your life you know." said Marylin shuddering at the bad memories of when Mashiro accidentally tripped a few traps. "Thank you for the sandwich and the food, Cerise."
