Ashley tilted her head at Tori. "You have an adopted son that's 20? Your not much older than he is then." She said with a small laugh.

"He just turned 20!" She pouted. "He was seven when we adopted him..." She muttered this. "And I'm roughly 13 years older than him." She stuck her tongue out at her. Not that it made it much better at the close age.

"Something like that." Tori laughed. "It's been forever, lets just stick with that." Abigael stuck out her bottom lip at Ashley.

"We moved here for two reasons: Katsu - going with the flow, Myself - to get my kids somewhere safer. Sadly, I think I've only set them up to be hurt..." She sighed. "I feel like I've failed them sometimes." Abigael laughed and bounced for her to do it again. "Though, they seem to be doing fine."

Ashley didn't want to bring up any unpleasant subjects, so she poked the baby's nose again. "I'm sure your kids are fine, after all your their mother."

Ashley held her hand out to Abby. "I'm here for work, I guess you could say. You'd be surprised at how quiet it's been the last few years."

"Well, in the last three years there hasn't been anyone with shadow powers going berserk or anything. Not since.." Ashley trailed off and frowned. "Anyway, not much before that either. It's weird really. One day there's so many of them, then the next they're all gone. well, most of them.." She said while looking at her hand that being being pulled on.

Abigael tried to climb along her arm while Tori laughed. "I'm thankful that it's quiet. But you know, it's as they say: quiet before a storm. Something will happen if we give it time."

Ashley kept the bad feeling she's had recently to herself and continued to smile at the baby, poking her belly. "Well, I'll make sure that it doesn't get out of hand. It's my job after all."

Ashley struggled at first to hold her, but got a grip and held her gently. "I don't have motherly instincts, although I guess I will soon enough."
