(early, but I don't care XP)
The small part of the park was blocked off by decorations that Tori (with Abigael's assistance) had put up. Katsu was going to prepare the food for everyone while small games and such were set up every now and again in the space. She, as well as Abigael and Kayla, were dressed in Kimono's for the event. "So, Abby, liking this?" Abigael sucked on a cookie happily. "I guess so." She looked around as she held Abigael. The small tree she had brought in a pot was set up to have people hang their wishes and such. They were near a lake where they could float their wish boats and way off from the lit area was an open space so people could go see the stars. She smiled to herself as she nodded softly as if to tell her self to put the stamp on it: APPROVED!

((Post co-wrote by Rommie and Danny))
Andromeda and Danny approached slowly. Rommie approached slowly out of habit, Danny out of an analytical sort of curiosity.
She looked at her companion with a small tilt of the head. "Tell me again what this is, Rommie? Tabitha what?"
"No, Tanabata. It's a festival I learned about from my Japanese friends. It's a festival of stars.... it's beautiful. I think it's something young couples fo to a lot too, but I'm not really sure.... Mom Morgan and Mom Eureka weren't as close as the Lantash parents or the Takasei parents, so we almost never did anything as a family." Andromeda explained as best she could. "Plus, both my parents were American."
"And the hosts? Lantash doesn't sound Japanese."
"Katsu is Egyptian-Japanese and Tori is pure Japanese." Rommie shrugged lightly. "Almost everyone here is my friend. Don't worry, you'll fit in fine. In fact, I imagine some of the people are really excited to meet you, I talk about you all the time."
They both approached Tori with warm smiles.
"Miss Tori, this is Danny Wright, she's my friend...." She wasn't sure how Tori handled homosexuality, but she knew the history between Tori and her mother, and decided it was best not to bring it up.

"It's nice to meet you, Danny." Tori smiled at her. She shifted Abigael to her hip and a handshake to Danny. Then she offered a hug to Andromeda. "How have you been, my little Anne?"

No one else called Andromeda "Anne", because she wouldn't allow it from anyone else. But Tori seemed to have trouble with the full name, and she was excused because of it. "Feeling a little uncomfortable with my new life here.... but Danny helps."

"That's good to hear that she helps. You know if you ever need help, I'm here for you, right?" Tori smiled at her while Abigael reached for her, saying 'fe'nd' (friend).

"Thanks, but I'd never trouble you with little things, or things that would discomfort you. Mom Morgan is a phone call away, and Grandma LeFay is just a few miles up the coast." Rommie took Abby's hand and held it tenderly. "Babies scare me. Not individually, but as a concept... I think I'm the only thirteen year old in the world who looks at a baby thinking 'I need to have one of these one day, the choice isn't mine'."

"The choice is always yours, Anne. And I'm here to help no matter how little the things are." She looked at the two then smiled. "You two are dating, aren't you?"

Before Danny could answer, Rommie interjected with a blush. "America isn't as progressive as Japan, and there are certain people who probably would be uncomfortable... I mean, you don't want another daughter exposed to... I mean...." She sighed. "Yes. We'll leave if you request it. I know your history with my mother, and understand any such request you might make."

Tori shook her head. "Please! Stay! I'd love for you two to be here." She smiled at her. "I may not be swinging in the same direction, but love is love: from man to woman, woman to woman, or man to man." She gave them both a happy smile, which was accompanied with Abigael's happy laugh. "It's made you open up more, Anne." Abigael cooed 'Anny'.

Rommie was always fairly in her own shell. Very quiet and reclusive. She wanted nothing more most of the time than to hide from everyone, but Danny had changed that. Before Danny, Rommie wouldn't be caught dead at a large social event. "Open, ma'am? I'm sure I don't know what you mean, exactly..." And she winced. Just, for once, she wanted SOMEONE in that family to use Rommie or Andromeda... for once... but it wasn't a common name for anyone, anywhere. It was the name of an ancient goddess of beauty. "Well, umm, we'll be quiet and out of the way, then." She realized as she said it that it was a complete lie. Danny couldn't do quiet or out of the way for very long without doing something random.

"I mean you're branching out more." She smiled. "Andromeda, don't pretend I didn't see that wince. I'll start calling your Rommie if you wish..." She sighed before laughing. "You two don't have to hide from everyone else--when they arrive--I believe the Takaseis are coming over, so you might not be able to hide for long." She smiled at them.

"Rommie!" Kayla called out as she 'ran' over to her. "Welcome!" She was beaming at them. "It's good to see you after such a while!"

"Don't know how many, though, Missus Lantash." Alicia approached in a black and red dress that looked vaguely oriental. She smiled and looked at a watch, as if feeling a little awkward that she beat Lucia. "Noss is for sure not coming, and the moms may or may not. Though, a part of me suspects that's all for the best."

Kayla looked down when Alicia arrived. She went into an uncomfortable state of silence.

Tori patted Kayla on the shoulder and looked at Alicia. "It is their choice to come; but this is a festival. Negative events or talk are not welcome. For tonight, all that exists is celebration. I'm sure you and Lucia will be looking forward to the romantic Japanese evening?" She gave her a wink.

She gave another highly uncomfortable smile. "We will be if you insist, missus. Although, the simple fact is, Noss not attending is the best way to ensure a celebratory mood. If she came, I promise you it would be spoiled."

"Where's my husband?" She said finally, looking around. "I can't offer you all snacks if he doesn't get here..." She motioned to the games and the wishing tablets. "You all are welcome to start the festivities while we wait for the stars to be out completely."

Alicia rose a hand, she needed the primer to Japan that was Lucia. "For us baka Americans, what's a 'wishing tablet'?"

"Well, they have different names, but their pieces of wood that you write a wish on and hang from either branches or from a rack. There are also slips of paper you hang from a tree that does the same thing; or a wishing boat that you put your wish on, light it on fire or not, and send across the water. There are also fortunes that you draw and tie to bare branches." She motioned to them as she talked.

Lucia would soon arrive, wearing an elegant green kimono...something she had been saving for this occasion. She smiles upon spotting Alicia and walks up to her, smiling brightly "Sorry I'm late...this was harder to put on than I thought it would be" She then glances at Kayla, her smile briefly fading, before looking back to Alicia and returning to her cheerful self.
