Personality:

Kind and sweet. She has a few old pains, and carries a lot of guilt over the damages that came while she was leader of the Fuchisho Abjects. She's prone ot self-blame and self-doubt, but still manages to be utterly ruthless when she has to be.

History:

Her brothers would tease her and pick on her when she was young. It was what she got for being both the youngest and the only girl in the family. But when her brothers started playing Duel Monsters, Linnis saw a way to get back at them. She would see connections and combinations with cards her brothers tossed aside, calling them 'useless'. She proved herself to her brothers, though, by not only holding her own against them, but by beating them.
At about thirteen, she realized that while all her friends started looking at boys and talking about how cute they were, she liked girls better. Because she was 'different', her friends started calling her terrible things and shunning her. It crushed her spirit and after enduring three years of that treatment, she applied for a transfer to Duel Academy to try and start over.
After dueling Vahn Gale, she was invited to join the Myreque, and as a member of that group, she defeated the seemingly vicious Leopold Vyrenex.
After that saga was over, she met Setsuna-chan, who was the first person 'like her' she had met on the island. Though Setsuna was taken, just spending time with her made Linnis feel more comfortable with herself.
Although she was able to talk to Setsuna, the first person on the island she came out to was William Nimbus, who greeted her with kindness and compassion despite the way she had treated him when they first met.
It was after that she met the girl who took her mind off her problems so completely, Lesley Highwood. Lesley-chan and Linny-chan fell in love at first sight, and although she still felt different from everyone else, for the first time in so many years, she felt good about it. Lesley has been helping her slowly be more open, both through her love and because word of the two's first date seemed to spread through the Academy like a fire. However, only a week after the most beautiful romance began, it ended when Lesley was forced to leave Duel Academy, which sent Linnis plummeting into depression.
Her depression was lifted when she started dating the first person on the island she really felt comfortable around, Setsuna. She loved her Set-chan so very much, and wanted to never let her go.
She was then given command of the Myreque by the MIA leader Vahn Gale. New to leadership, she has been hesitant and very reliant on a few members. Her first action under this position was to defeat the darkness controlling William, only to seal William away, something that she did not easily forgive herself for.
As soon as power was taken away from her in the Myreque, the new leader Pierce committed what Linnis felt was an injustice, and fired a large number of Myreque members. Linnis resigned, and told the others that the Myreque should sooner disband that do what they were doing. They did, in fact, disband, and reformed without her. She formed her own group of those who were cast aside by Pierce called the Fushicho Abjects. No sooner did the Abjects come to be than Katsu Lantash came to her, and warned her that the Myreque considered her a threat, and was coming for her. They never did. A few of the reformed Myreque joined her, many gave up the fight, and a few others joined Orlando Willowcrest's ICC.
Linnis and Setsuna spent a lot of time together privately for a long while as Setsuna recovered from a Shadow Duel, and after her recovery, the kept spending time together in private rather than in public. This had become one thing holding her back from advancement into Horuaketi Violet, where many contested, she belonged. Linnis' placing second in the Battle Academy tournament probably prompted the desire for advancement into overdrive however and she spent much time contemplating how to go about her second qualifier for advancement.
Linnis celebrated her 17th birthday in a small party she had set up in Obelisk dorm. Some close friends attended, and she really enjoyed it. However, Setsuna had not been in attendance. A bitter foreshadowing of what was to come.
Not long after that, the love of her life, Setsuna Makenshi, left Duel Academy for personal reasons promising to return. A promise that remained unkept for two years.
Shortly after that, in a probable attempt to distract herself from her grief over losing her love to the cruelties of fate, Linnis took a Violet Rank Test and passed it narrowly against Katsu Lantash. It wasn't long before her doubt in her abilities started to flare however.
Also, citing a lapse in the activities of evil, she decided to not disband the Abjects, but put everyone on leave "until we are needed again". She had planned festivities but they were interrupted when grim news came.
She did not attend Tori Kyokuhan's funeral, but has always carried guilt over her death. She knew the lives of the people in her command were her responsibility, and has always felt she failed Tori.
After graduating in 2010 as valedictorian of her class, and a proud Horuaketi, she had joined the Pro League. For a short time she lived in her family home with brief lover Ashley Fox, but the relationship didn't last, in part because a part of Linnis was incapable of letting go of Setsuna.
On July 4th, 2011, Linnis married Setsuna Makenshi in a beautiful ceremony in Domino. Setsuna had finally come back, and the knot was tied.
Some days later, she encountered Rei again... bringing up her single regret, the single "what if?" that mattered to her as far as her wedding was concerned. After a heartbreaking moment, she vowed to help Rei find someone, because it was "the least she could do".
Moving past that single doubt, trying to bury it, she and Setsuna decided to adopt. Two girls named Noss and Lucia. Oddly, Noss was bluenette like Linnis and Lucia had brown hair similar to Setsuna.
Following her most recent stint on the Pro Circuit, Linnis has been looking into any number of jobs, ranging from teaching at D.A. to being head of Security, to just owning a shop in Domino. She took a job as Adjunct Professor of Shadow Sciences.
She felt that after this, she had fallen out of the world she once knew, a world of good versus evil and Abjects saving the day. She knew others now had taken this role, and it broke her up inside. She mourned her best days' passing at twenty, something Setsuna couldn't understand. Trance Fitzwallace, a student in her class, did understand, and in large part because of Trance, Linnis pulled herself out of her depression and built the Abjects up once again as a formidable force of duelists and researchers who would hopefully take on Yuto.
The leadership of the Myreque, also reformed with the same goal, made overtures of peace that Linnis first accepted with open arms only to be stabbed by an attempted assignation by Marvelo Namaguchi. Linnis would accept the next overtures of friendship far more reluctantly.
When her extensive and detailled history at Duel Academy came to a close, Linnis ventured to the new community of San Melina, California, in search of whatever came next in life.
